Neon Dynasty | Reconfigure

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is a fantastic revisiting of a fan favorite setting within Magic, and I've been very excited about the new designs and mechanics that Wizards has created to convey the cyberpunk theme of the set. So much so, in fact, that I've started envisioning how some of them might work in D&D 5e!
Today we're looking at Reconfigure, but stay tuned stay tuned for more riffs on other mechanics from Neon Dynasty, such as Ninjutsu, Mechs, and Channel!

Simic Archetypes: Biomancer & Guardian
When I was setting out rough design notes for each of the guilds, Simic very nearly designed itself. Using a shared list of features, or adaptations, that both the caster and martial subclass would access and use in different ways was thematically and mechanically resonant in a way that was almost prescient - at the time, I hadn't settled on using shared guild mechanics across the caster and martial subclasses, but the idea made too much sense to abandon.

Project: Hope and Gen 2. Council of hololive English both debuted relatively recently, and after watching them for a while, I got the urge to brew up magic items inspired by their backgrounds, personalities, powersets, and of course memes.
Shout out to u/PurpleFire18, whose original hololive homebrew items really kickstarted this crossover between hololive and D&D.
